After a brief stint as a computer science student, Diederick went to study law at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam. He obtained master’s degrees in Financial Law and in Corporate Law. Subsequent to his studies he was an attorney-at-law during which period he obtained his bar exam (“Beroepsopleiding Advocatuur”).
Diederick’s career started out litigating court cases for mostly SME companies. His career took him past consultancy, a trusted company, and 4 years as head of legal affairs at a legal tech startup. Here he helped build up a disruptive legal-tech formula that championed legal accessibility for SMEs. In 2020 he decided to start his own business law firm, combining his broad legal experience with a pragmatic, personal and tech-driven approach.
Since 2009 Diederick has gained vast experience in the fields of business law and commercial contracts. During the course of his career, Diederick sometimes noticed lawyers prioritizing office stature, legal precedent shaping, or even Latin wittiness over helping their clients. Diederick has clearly taken this as an example of “how not to”, sending him on a mission to make legal services more accessible. You may expect straight answers from him.
